This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service through any of these channels.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Timezone (auto-detected from your browser)

You can sign in with email (one-time password) or Google OAuth.

Study Data

As you use Study Kit, we store:

  • Courses and lessons you create
  • Questions, answers, scores, and feedback
  • Vocabulary items (terms, definitions, pronunciation, example sentences)
  • Spaced repetition review progress
  • Study schedules
  • Documents you upload or create

Usage Data

MCP Integration & Conversation Data

When you use Study Kit through an AI platform (ChatGPT, Claude, or others) via the Model Context Protocol, we only receive and store data explicitly sent through our MCP tools — such as courses, lessons, questions, answers, and vocabulary. We do not collect, store, or have access to your conversation history, prompts, or any other messages exchanged with the AI platform. We collect only the data necessary to provide our learning functionality.

Performance Analysis

We use AI to analyze your study performance and generate recommendations, including accuracy metrics, strengths, weaknesses, and suggested next steps. This analysis is stored with your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, personalize, and improve the Study Kit service — including generating study content, tracking learning progress, sending reminders, and securing your account. We collect only the minimum data necessary to deliver our learning functionality and do not use your data for advertising or unrelated purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

Study Kit runs on infrastructure provided by Cloudflare, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Anthropic, and DigitalOcean. These providers help us with hosting, AI content generation, authentication, file storage, and email delivery.

When you connect Study Kit through ChatGPT (OpenAI) or Claude (Anthropic), those platforms act as the AI interface. Study Kit's MCP server only processes tool calls initiated by you through these platforms — we do not receive or store your conversations with the AI.

These services process data only as necessary to operate Study Kit. We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. All connections use HTTPS. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled via one-time codes and OAuth.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

Study Kit does not use tracking cookies. We store your authentication token in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. No third-party cookies are set.

7. Email Communications

We may send you service-related emails such as study reminders and performance summaries. You can manage your notification preferences within the app.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information in your profile
  • Delete your account and associated data
